“Place different from the pictures on the web site. 10 min driving in the jungle to reach the place, no signals. Hosted in a TENT, no room shower, no hot water, dirty room, gym dirty with birds excrements. Poor breakfast (additional 25$ per person), no orange juice, no eggs, flying insects on the food. Worm in the shared shower ..... We booked 3 nights, after 1 night we left asked for reimbursement, hotel refused claiming that is expedia problem. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !”

“This property was the favorite lodging of the trip. Amazingly, it was not full. It is within 100 yards of Hawi’s main attraction, Kohala Zipline. The main building forms a square around a lawn-dominated garden: A vintage roadside motel combined with a cloister. Good dining choices are within a short walking or a slightly longer driving distance. Nearby sights/sites of interest include Pololu Beach and two churches in a New England style, both of which look great in the tropical setting.”

“This is an amazingly beautiful place. You can see the ocean from the bedroom, and when the weather is clear Maui too. There are so many stars on clear nights, and we saw several rainbows. The whole property is basically a tropical garden, with little paths through the woods and citrus and avocado trees, which guests are welcome to enjoy as much as they want. Words and photos can't describe how beautiful and replenishing this location is.The hosts are lovely and welcoming - truly good people....

“This place was exactly as described. It was spacious and clean. But….. there were very loud roosters beginning at 3pm and going on late into the night every night. The noise wouldn’t have been so bad but knowing why those roosters were there was more than disturbing. It broke my heart. To be fair, the owners of this property were great hosts and have no control over the neighbors. I’m just giving everyone a heads up in case they care about this sort of thing. I wouldn’t have rented this place...

“I loved the décor in this home. It was simple, but very fitting for a Hawaiian stay! I also loved how it was stocked with some beach supplies and things that we didn't have to go buy. We had a really fun stay.”

“La mia stanza (spettacolare vista sull'oceano, molto pulita) distava ben 900 metri dall'uscita dell'hotel. La navetta non era quasi mai disponibile,spesso ferma per manutenzione. Avevamo preso camera con colazione, ma sconsiglio vivamente di prendere la colazione: con il voucher eravamo obbligati ad andare in un unico posto, con una fila di anche 15 minuti, per avere una misera scelta tra caffe, the o arancia e un altro pezzo salato. Non era possibile avere un dolce!!! Sconsigliatissima”

“Bell’hotel in splendida posizione sulle colate di lava tra palme e prati verdi! Bella anche la baia dove fare snorkeling. Bellissimi i pesci che girano nei canali di acqua marina intorno all’hotel. Servizio da migliorare ma l’albergo vale il prezzo. Ci tornerei”

“This place made our 5 year anniversary the most special trip ever. This was our 3rd time to Hawaii but first to Big. The staff was always helpful regarding resort or local activities and was always really friendly. They did some special stuff for us to make us feel even more welcome and to celebrate our anniversary. The resort felt very clean and they cleaned our room and gave us fresh towels several times a day. Browns and Hale Kai were particular standouts while the other restaurants offered...

“I loved the upgrades that they had made to the room. What I didn’t like was. A lot of the light switches in the room didn’t work. My family and I have stayed on this property before and always enjoyed our stays. When we tried to ask for a late check out time, it was quite ridiculous. Check out was at 10:00 which used to be at noon and the late check out was at 11:30. My family was disappointed especially my grandkids. Like I said, we always enjoyed out stay at that property but, I don’t...

“Nice apartment, big and quiet. Well equipped. It is in the dry area of Hawaii- no mosquitos and very sunny But the people at the reception are not very friendly and we had no housekeeping. I would have expected this thinking at the price. The carpet needs some urgent cleaning”
